After the PDT led light is absorbed by the skin, the light energy is transformed into intracellular energy, which listens to and strengthens the microvasculature and generates photochemical and enzymatic reactions with the skin, promoting the cellular. ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), the source of energy generation, is broken down. Increases glycogen and protein content, thus promoting cellular metabolism. The PDT led light therapy accelerates cell growth and blood circulation, stimulating collagen production by fibroblast tissue, thus increasing skin elasticity, improving skin effect, and relieving sunburn.

What happens during PDT light therapy?

Pdt light therapy is performed in two phases:

1) Preparation

First, you will need to go to a hospital or clinic. Depending on the part of the body being treated, you may be asked to go home and return a few hours or days later. This will give the cure a chance to build up in the abnormal cells. It accelerates cell growth and blood circulation, stimulating collagen production by fibroblast tissue, thus increasing skin elasticity, improving skin effect, and relieving sunburn.

2) Light treatment

After this, you will need to return to the hospital or clinic for PDT light therapy treatment. This will involve shining a light or laser onto the treatment area for approximately 10 to 45 minutes. To treat abnormal cells in your body, such as your lungs, an endoscope (a small flexible tube with a light on the end) will be inserted into your body. Sometimes a local anesthetic may be used to numb the treatment area, or you may be helped to relax during the procedure.

What happens after PDT light therapy?

If your skin has been treated through PDT-led light therapy, the area will be covered with a dressing that should remain in place for approximately one day. Your care team will tell you exactly how long. Try to avoid scratching or tapping the treated area and keep it as dry as possible. Once you have been advised to remove the dressing, you can wash and shower as usual, just pat the treated area dry. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled at the hospital or clinic to assess the effectiveness of the treatment and to determine if the PDT-led light therapy treatment needs to be repeated. The area usually takes about 2 to 6 weeks to fully heal, depending on which part of the body was treated and how large the area is.

Attentions when you choose PDT-led light therapy

Pdt light therapy is a very safe and effective treatment when used for conditions for which it has been officially approved (licensed) for treatment. However, the following side effects are common. A burning or stinging sensation after the PDT light therapy treatment is completed, which usually goes away soon after the treatment is finished.

If the PDT light therapy is done, your skin or eyes may be sensitive to sunlight and bright indoor lights for up to 6 weeks, discuss with your care team what you should do to protect your eyes and skin during this time.
